After working in leading online marketplaces in Turkey, Süleyman Yaman Alpata, who took charge in the operations of countries such as China, Brazil and Russia at Alibaba Group, established Mega Merchant in April 2022. Mega Merchant means ‘mega merchant’ in Turkish and represents a business model. It provides legal, logistics and financial infrastructure services for brands in Turkey to reach abroad without any problems. Through these services, companies can offer their products to customers abroad via e-export.
‘After 20 years of corporate life, I decided to start my own business. 10 years of these 20 years have been spent with e-commerce, and in the last 5 years, I have been in the industry with Alibaba, a global giant. I had the opportunity to work at the headquarters of Alibaba and I was the first Turkish employee there. I observed a structure far beyond the e-commerce structure in Turkey and learned a lot.
